Upcoming Basket Retreats

Area Guild Classes

Basket weaving guilds have formed in Paducah Kentucky and Evansville Indiana. These guilds meet monthly to start and complete a woven basket, work on existing projects, and for comaradarie. Guilds can be formed with any size group, and generally have at least one experienced weaver who can prepare materials for each month's project.

The guild in Paducah formed in 2004, and meets monthly. .

The Evansville Guild started in 2005, and has grown quickly, with gatherings lasting several days at a time with numerous projects at each gathering.

Another weaving group meets in the Ice House, a restored ice house in Mayfield Kentucky which now houses an art museum with many pieces available for purchase. Patty Feather is the instructor each of these weaving groups, preparing the agenda and materials for each meeting.

About Guilds

Guilds are clubs, with officers, committees, and by-laws. The purpose of the guild can be as broad or narrow as desired, with the typical objective to advance the artistic abilities of the members and  the awareness of weaving.

Guilds may be a part of a national network of weavers.
